A Message for the American People

King Solomon once recounted the story of a little city with few men in it. "A great king came against it, besieged it, and built great snares around it. Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that same poor man."

Compared to the many fiscal challenges we have created for ourselves, America is the little city with few men in it, and our indebted way of life is set to ensnare us.

We need to find a poor wise man to deliver some wisdom to our city.

Notice the humility of wisdom: it is completely willing to be utterly forgotten. Wisdom is better than strength.

Solomon concluded:
Words of the wise, spoken quietly, should be heard
Rather than the shout of a ruler of fools.
Please ask God for humility for ourselves and our leaders.
