Senate Floor Schedule

Program for Monday: Senate resumes consideration of S. 1, Strengthening America's Security in the Middle East Act, with votes on or in relation to amendments to the bill, and on the motion to invoke cloture on the bill at 5:30 p.m. The filing deadline for first-degree amendments to the bill is at 4 p.m.

After actions taken by New York and Virginia to allow abortion up until the time of birth, Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE) announced Thursday on the floor that he would be calling a live unanimous consent on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, S. 130, Monday evening.  He also reintroduced the bill, S. 311, under Rule XIV, to place it directly on the legislative calendar, as opposed to being referred to committee.
Mr. SASSE: I am going to be asking unanimous consent for Senators to come to the floor and pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act legislation. I am going to ask all 100 Senators to come to the floor and be against infanticide. This shouldn't be complicated.
Congress meets in joint session Tuesday for an address by the President on the State of the Union.
